Provenance

Where it came from

Hop (73/73) is a Full Art Supporter card introduced in the Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion Champion’s Path, released in late 2020. This set was unique for its focus on the Galar region, highlighting characters and themes from the Pokémon Sword and Shield video games. As a character, Hop serves as the player's primary rival and the younger brother of the Galar Champion, Leon. The card was designed to capture his enthusiastic and energetic personality, marking a significant inclusion for fans of the eighth generation of Pokémon games.

The artwork for this specific card was rendered by illustrator Naoki Saito, a prominent figure in the Pokémon TCG community known for his vibrant, dynamic character portraits. Saito’s design for the Full Art Hop card emphasizes a bold, celebratory pose that reflects the character's role as an aspiring trainer. Upon release, the card was well-received by collectors for its clean, high-contrast aesthetic and its status as the secret rare chase card of the Champion’s Path set, representing the pinnacle of that specific expansion's card numbering.
