Leafeon

Leafeon BW87 was released in 2013 as part of the Black & White Series Black Star Promos, a line of cards distributed primarily through organized play events, retail blisters, and promotional sets in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. This specific card was featured in the Plasma Blast-era era, characterized by the inclusion of Team Plasma-themed cards, which introduced distinct design elements like blue borders and unique card mechanics that differentiated them from standard expansions.

The illustration is credited to Kyoko Umemoto, an artist who has contributed extensively to the Pokémon TCG aesthetic. In this piece, Leafeon is depicted in a dynamic, naturalistic pose that emphasizes its Grass-type nature, aligning with the clean, vibrant digital art style that defined the Black & White era. Upon release, the card was well-received by players and collectors for its status as a highly accessible promo, often sought for its character artwork and utility within the competitive landscape of that period.
