Where it came from
The Magnemite SV27/94 card was released in 2019 as part of the Hidden Fates Shiny Vault, a special subset within the Pokémon Trading Card Game. This set was highly anticipated by collectors for its inclusion of 'Shiny' Pokémon, which feature their rare alternative coloration. The design of this specific card utilizes the 'Shiny' variant of Magnemite, which swaps its standard grey metallic finish for a striking gold hue, set against a holographic pattern that differentiates it from standard rare cards of the era.
The illustration for this card is credited to artist Mizue, who has contributed numerous designs to the Pokémon TCG. The artwork depicts Magnemite floating in a vibrant, crystalline-styled environment, emphasizing the premium nature of the Shiny Vault subset. Upon its release, the card was well-received by the collecting community for its distinct aesthetics and its role in the broader trend of Japanese-inspired 'Shiny' card designs being integrated into the English-language card sets.
