Provenance

Where it came from

The Peeking Red Card was released in November 2017 as part of the Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion Crimson Invasion. This set was based on the Sun & Moon era of the video games, specifically focusing on the Ultra Beasts and the mysterious dimensions from which they emerged. The card serves as a Trainer-Item card, designed to offer players a tactical advantage by allowing them to look at their opponent's hand and force them to reveal information during competitive play.

The artwork was created by illustrator Toyste Beach, who has contributed numerous designs to the Pokémon TCG. The card’s visual style reflects the sharp, industrial aesthetic often associated with Team Skull or the various tech-heavy items introduced in the Alola region. Upon its release, the card was widely utilized in competitive deck-building for its disruption capabilities, becoming a staple in many players' sideboards during the 2017-2018 tournament cycle.
