The Poké Drawer + trainer card was released in the Stormfront expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, which debuted in late 2008 as the final installment of the Diamond & Pearl Series. This set focused on the legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia and introduced powerful mechanic-driven trainer cards intended to increase the tempo of competitive play. As an item card, the Poké Drawer + was designed to reward players for deck management, allowing them to search their deck for trainer cards if they could play two copies of the card simultaneously.
