Probopass

The Probopass card from the Dragons Exalted expansion was released in 2012 as part of the wider Black & White series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. This set was notable for its focus on Dragon-type Pokémon, marking the first time the type was introduced as a primary category in the game. Probopass, a Rock and Steel-type Pokémon known for its distinct, mustache-like iron filings, appears here as a Metal-type card, adhering to the game's mechanic of assigning cards to specific energy types based on their elemental traits.

The artwork for this specific card was commissioned from illustrator Akira Komayama, who has been a frequent contributor to the Pokémon TCG since the early 2010s. Komayama utilized a clean, digital aesthetic consistent with the mid-era Black & White art style, emphasizing the character's sturdy, angular geometry. Upon release, the card was generally viewed as a common-to-rare fixture for players looking to incorporate Metal-type utility into their decks, though it remained a secondary choice compared to the more powerful Rare Holo or Ultra Rare cards of the era.
