Professor's Research (Professor Turo)

Professor's Research (Professor Turo) was released as part of the Scarlet & Violet base set in 2023, marking the transition into the ninth generation of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The card depicts Professor Turo, the primary researcher of the Paldea region, whose design draws on futuristic aesthetics to complement the technological themes of the Scarlet and Violet video games. As a staple Supporter card, it functions by allowing players to discard their hand and draw seven cards, a core mechanic that has defined the utility of 'Professor' cards throughout the game's long history.

The card's design features the signature bold, clean borders introduced in the Scarlet & Violet era, which prioritize legibility and a modernized layout. The artwork, consistent with the set's standard Rare treatment, captures the professor in his laboratory environment, emphasizing his role as a bridge between the player and the mechanics of the game. It was received by the community as a functional necessity for competitive decks, maintaining the series' tradition of centering the research-themed Supporter as a high-impact tool for consistency.
