Where it came from
The Tauros card, numbered 57/83, was released in the Generations expansion in 2016. This set was designed to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, featuring a mix of new cards and reprints that celebrated two decades of history. It was released as a special supplemental set, distinct from the main block releases of the time, and was sold primarily through special collection boxes rather than standard booster boxes.
The card features an illustration by Kouki Saitou, a long-time contributor to the Pokémon Trading Card Game known for his dynamic and clean style. In this entry, Tauros is depicted in a charging pose that emphasizes its aggressive, bull-like nature. As a Rare-tier card, it was crafted to be a sturdy colorless attacker, fitting the theme of a generation-spanning celebration by showcasing one of the iconic Generation I Pokémon that had remained a staple of the series since its inception.
