Where it came from
12 Hits Un-Covered was released in 2022 by No Balls Records as a compilation project for The Undead, a long-standing group within the American horror-punk scene. The record was conceived to revisit and recontextualize tracks from the band's history, serving as a reflection of their sonic evolution and their commitment to the DIY ethos that defined their early years in the New Jersey underground.
The album features artwork and design elements that lean into the band's established aesthetic of gothic, macabre, and vintage horror imagery. By curating this collection under the NBR 2-2021 catalog, the band sought to provide a definitive document for dedicated listeners, focusing on raw, stripped-back arrangements that highlight the core songwriting of their legacy.
