13 Ans ½

Released in 1979 on the Disc'Az label, 13 Ans ½ serves as a notable entry in the late seventies French pop scene. Grégory Ken, who would later achieve significant commercial success as one half of the duo Chagrin d'Amour, navigated the evolving landscape of French variety music during this era. The record reflects the production standards of the time, characterized by a blend of melodic chanson and the polished arrangements typical of late seventies studio recording.

The visual identity and design of the record were created to align with the aesthetic trends of the French pop market, focusing on a direct, approachable presentation of the artist. While the single was part of a broader push to establish Ken as a solo performer, it is primarily viewed today as a precursor to his future career in the synth-pop movement. It occupies a niche space in the discography of an artist who later became a prominent cultural figure in France.
