Aïda Acte II, Scène II, Grande Marche / Marche Militaire En Ré Majeur Op. 41 Nº 1 / Marche Des Petits Soldats De Plomb / Marche Funébre D'une Marionette

This 7-inch extended play record, catalog number 7 EBF 4, was released by La Voix De Son Maître, the French branch of the historic Gramophone Company. It features Arthur Fiedler conducting the Boston Pops Orchestra in a selection of orchestral marches, including Verdi's Grande Marche from Aïda and Gounod's Marche Funèbre d'une Marionette. These recordings reflect the mid-20th-century era of high-fidelity 45 RPM releases, which aimed to make classical repertoire more accessible and portable for the post-war domestic market.

The disc serves as a concise anthology of light classical favorites, capitalizing on Fiedler's reputation for bringing orchestral polish to recognizable melodies. The design adheres to the standard aesthetic of the period's French pressing, utilizing the iconic Nipper dog trademark—the 'His Master's Voice' logo—which became synonymous with the RCA Victor and La Voix De Son Maître labels. Critics at the time generally received such collections as reliable, well-engineered staples for home listeners seeking light classical variety.
