Altes Fiakerlied / Der Dornbacher Pfarrer Steckt Aus

The 78 rpm record featuring 'Altes Fiakerlied' and 'Der Dornbacher Pfarrer Steckt Aus' was produced by the Olympia label, a brand associated with the Austrian recording industry during the mid-twentieth century. These tracks represent the 'Wienerlied' tradition, a genre of Viennese folk music characterized by its sentimental, often nostalgic themes and distinct instrumentation involving violin, accordion, and guitar or 'Kontragitarre'. The record captures the quintessential atmosphere of the Viennese Heuriger, reflecting a cultural preservation effort to document the local urban folk music that was once the backbone of tavern life in the city.

The musical arrangements performed by the Enenkel Schrammeln and associated ensembles follow the established Schrammelmusik style, named after the Schrammel brothers who popularized this quartet formation in the late 19th century. These recordings were intended to evoke the romanticized image of old Vienna, focusing on the charm of the 'Fiaker' (horse-drawn carriage) culture. While specific production details for catalog number 23 9 80 are not widely documented in historical archives, such records were typically aimed at a regional audience of enthusiasts seeking to preserve the musical heritage of the Vienna outskirts, particularly the Dornbach district.
