Bad Boy X-Rated / Capital P. X-Rated

Released in 1991 on the Alms-House label, Bad Boy X-Rated by Super C and Rankin Don serves as a quintessential artifact of the early 1990s dancehall scene. During this era, independent Jamaican labels were pivotal in bridging the gap between local sound systems and the international market, often utilizing raw, minimal production styles that allowed the deejays' vocal dexterity to take center stage.

The record reflects the thematic boldness typical of the period, where artists pushed boundaries through lyrical bravado and social commentary. As a release under the Alms-House imprint, it contributes to a wider body of work that documented the rapid evolution of Jamaican rhythms before the total digital transition of the mid-90s. While not a mainstream commercial crossover, it remains a respected piece among collectors of classic dancehall vinyl for its authentic portrayal of the genre's stylistic pivot point.
