Ballet-Suiten "Schwanensee"- "Dornröschen"

Released in 1979 under Deutsche Grammophon’s mid-price label series, this recording features the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Warsaw, also known as the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra. This pressing was part of the label's broader effort to make cornerstone Romantic repertoire accessible to a wider audience through high-quality, budget-friendly vinyl editions. The selection highlights Tchaikovsky’s most enduring ballet suites, *Swan Lake* and *Sleeping Beauty*, which have served as essential pillars of the classical catalog since their late 19th-century debuts.

The album reflects the tradition of the Warsaw National Philharmonic, an ensemble with a long history of interpreting Slavic orchestral music with deep technical precision. Deutsche Grammophon, renowned for its 'Yellow Label' prestige and rigorous production standards, utilized this recording to showcase the orchestra's expressive range in pieces that require both immense rhythmic discipline and lyrical warmth. Upon its release, it was well-received by listeners seeking reliable, definitive interpretations of Tchaikovsky’s melodic storytelling without the premium cost of contemporary full-price studio releases.
