Bible Stories: David And Goliath / Solomon, Vol. V

Released under the Cricket Records label in the mid-1950s, this 78-rpm record was part of a series of educational and narrative children's audio productions. Cricket Records, a budget-friendly subsidiary of Pickwick Sales, aimed to provide affordable, accessible storytelling and music for families during the post-war baby boom, often distributing their products through mass-market retail outlets rather than specialized record stores.

The recording features narration and performance by Leif Erickson, a versatile actor of the mid-20th century known for his distinctive voice and extensive work in both film and radio. The production style reflects the era's focus on moral instruction through dramatized biblical adaptations, utilizing simple, clear audio techniques intended to engage young listeners. Like much of the Cricket label's catalog, the design was functional and utilitarian, prioritizing thematic accessibility and durability for a juvenile audience.
