En Excelsior Lo Escrito Es Historia

En Excelsior Lo Escrito Es Historia was released in 1990 under the Peerless label, serving as a significant collaborative project that brought together the legendary Cuban orchestra La Sonora Matancera and the iconic Mexican ranchera singer Lola Beltrán. This recording represents a bridge between two titans of Latin American music, blending the sophisticated tropical rhythms characteristic of La Sonora Matancera with the dramatic emotional depth of Beltrán's vocal style. The album was produced during a period when the label sought to highlight the enduring cultural legacy of these artists by presenting them in a collaborative context that appealed to fans of both traditional son cubano and Mexican folk traditions.

The design and presentation of this release reflect the classic aesthetic of the Peerless Producto Especial series, which focused on archival quality and the preservation of historic musical partnerships. While specific design credits for the cover art are not widely documented, the packaging was intended to signal a formal, celebratory tribute to the artists' long-standing contributions to the industry. Upon its release, the record was received as a respectful retrospective, valued by collectors for its rare pairing of artists who had defined their respective genres for decades and who remained central figures in the development of 20th-century Latin music.
