Hell-Hammered Horror

Hell-Hammered Horror, released in 2013 under the catalog number R.F.L. #89 by Rescued From Life Records, stands as a notable entry within the niche landscape of underground experimental and extreme music. Produced by the artist Funerary Box, the record serves as a sonic exploration of the darker, more abrasive corners of the genre, adhering to the independent ethos that defined much of the label's output during that period. It reflects the label’s commitment to documenting raw, uncompromising artistic expressions that operate far outside the reach of mainstream commercial interests.

The aesthetic direction of the release is consistent with the lo-fi, visceral presentation often associated with Rescued From Life Records. By prioritizing a stark, minimalist visual and auditory identity, Funerary Box sought to cultivate an atmosphere of dread and industrial isolation. Upon its release, the record was received primarily within the insular community of harsh noise and black metal enthusiasts, where it earned modest recognition for its uncompromising adherence to its chosen aesthetic theme, solidifying its place as a quintessential artifact of its specific subcultural era.
