Holger Hiller

Holger Hiller's self-titled release, issued in 1980 on Warning Records, emerged from the experimental post-punk scene centered around Berlin. Hiller, a key figure in the Neue Deutsche Welle movement and a founding member of Palais Schaumburg, utilized this solo work to explore cut-up sampling techniques and unconventional song structures. The release is defined by its minimalist, avant-garde approach to production, rejecting the traditional pop sensibilities of the era in favor of erratic rhythms and idiosyncratic vocal delivery.
