I Kissed A Miss On The Ferris Wheel/ Boom-Boom Bitzy! Bom Bitzy!

Released in the mid-1950s on the Variety Records label, this single is a quintessential artifact of the novelty pop era. It captures the lighthearted, often whimsical spirit of post-war American radio, where upbeat, gimmick-heavy tracks featuring vocal duos were common staples. The record features the Joe Kovats Orchestra providing a jaunty, brass-led backdrop for the vocal performances, which lean heavily into the theatrical performance style favored by label catalogs of that period.

The tracks are characteristic of a niche period in independent recording where smaller labels sought to capitalize on regional radio trends. Marty Bronson and Lori Stevens deliver performances designed to evoke a sense of playful youth culture, a recurring theme in mid-century novelty music. While the record is relatively obscure today, it serves as a snapshot of the era's focus on short, punchy, and danceable vignettes that were produced to capture the attention of jukebox listeners across the United States.
