Klavierkonzert No. 2, F-moll Op. 21 / Konzertrondo Für Klavier Und Orchester F-dur Op. 14 / Variationen Für Klavier Und Orchester B-dur Op. 2

This recording was released as part of the MMS (Münchener Musikseminar) series, a label prominent in the mid-20th century for making classical repertoire accessible through affordable, high-quality pressings. Produced during an era when the post-war European music scene was eager to revitalize the classical canon for a growing home-listening audience, this release gathers three of Chopin’s works for piano and orchestra, showcasing his early mastery of the concerto form and concertante style.

The performances feature pianist Detlev Eisinger alongside the Bamberger Symphoniker, conducted by Rudolf Albert. Eisinger’s approach to these pieces reflects the romantic tradition of the mid-century period, emphasizing lyrical fluidity and melodic clarity. The label's design for the series followed a clean, minimalist aesthetic common to the period, prioritizing legible typography and clear attribution to both the soloist and the ensemble, which helped cement the series' reputation among serious record collectors of the time.
