Konzert der Partnerstädte - Jumelage Musical - Melun - Stuttgart-Vaihingen - Franz Schubert Messe G-Dur - Max Bruch Violinkonzert

This recording documents a 1986 collaborative concert celebrating the town twinning partnership between Melun, France, and the Stuttgart-Vaihingen district of Germany. These partnerships were a common post-war initiative designed to foster cross-cultural exchange and reconciliation through joint civic and artistic programming. The performance featured the Chorale Marc-Antoine Charpentier and the Sinfonisches Orchester des Fanny Leicht Gymnasiums, bringing together German students and French vocalists to perform works by Franz Schubert and Max Bruch.

As a private press release, the record serves as a localized memento of the diplomatic effort rather than a commercial product. The choice of repertoire—Schubert’s Mass in G Major and Bruch’s Violin Concerto—reflects the traditional academic and ecclesiastical standards favored by youth orchestras and community choirs of the period. Because it was produced without a major label and distributed primarily among participants and local attendees, it remains a rare artifact of 1980s European municipal cultural diplomacy.
