Where it came from
Released in 2020 by the Swiss label Cheptel Records, L'enfer C'est Nous represents a notable entry in the catalog of the electronic producer and artist known as Régis. Emerging from a scene that values experimental soundscapes and unconventional production methods, this record serves as an exploration of the artist's minimalist approach to composition, prioritizing atmosphere and textured synthesis over traditional song structures.
The aesthetic direction of the release reflects Cheptel Records' commitment to distinctive, often austere physical packaging that mirrors the sonic content of their roster. By framing the project with a title echoing existential philosophy, the release invites listeners to engage with a work that is at once intellectually provocative and deeply immersive, maintaining the underground ethos that has defined the label's output since its inception.
