Régis

Released in 2016 on the Swiss label Cheptel Records, this self-titled vinyl record serves as a defining entry in the discography of the artist known as Régis. Emerging from a niche corner of the electronic and experimental music underground, the project captures the distinct stylistic sensibilities prevalent in mid-2010s independent production. It represents a period where label aesthetics and curated analog releases became a focal point for artists seeking to blend experimental soundscapes with traditional physical media.

The design and artistic direction of the album mirror the label's broader commitment to minimalist and avant-garde visual language, common among contemporary labels operating out of Europe. The release was received within electronic music circles as a focused exploration of texture and rhythmic experimentation. By prioritizing atmospheric depth over conventional dancefloor utility, the work solidified the artist's standing among enthusiasts of left-field electronic music, ensuring its place as a representative artifact of the Cheptel Records catalog.
