Ma Se Mi Va Mi Va

Released in 1973 on the Italian label Picci, Ma Se Mi Va Mi Va represents a notable entry in the vibrant landscape of 1970s Italian pop and chanson. Produced during a period when the Italian music industry was heavily influenced by experimental arrangements and the transition from traditional singer-songwriter styles toward more orchestral, sophisticated studio productions, this record reflects the aesthetic sensibilities of that era. It stands as a document of the niche market for female vocalists who navigated the intersection of pop melody and nuanced storytelling.

The record label Picci was known for its diverse catalog, often acting as a platform for artists who balanced mainstream appeal with distinct stylistic choices. While specific design documentation regarding the cover art for this release remains limited, the visual presentation typical of Picci catalog LG 3024 follows the mid-century Italian design ethos, prioritizing the artist's portrait to emphasize persona and emotional resonance. Upon its release, the record was received as a contribution to the evolving tapestry of Italian popular music, appreciated by listeners who favored the gentle, evocative vocal styles characteristic of Lami's work.
