Moon / Revolution

Moon / Revolution was released in 1992 on Showdown Records, a label deeply embedded in the early nineties German electronic music scene. This period saw the rapid evolution of techno and trance as producers experimented with heavier, atmospheric synthesized sounds meant for warehouse parties and underground clubs. The track serves as a time capsule of that era, characterized by the raw production aesthetics and driving rhythmic structures that defined the formative years of European rave culture.

The record was a collaborative effort between Holger Lange and Nico Hellweg. Like many producers operating within the independent dance music sphere of the early nineties, their work was focused on immediate floor impact rather than mass-market appeal. As part of a relatively small-run catalog, the release reflects the decentralized, experimental spirit of the label, where artists often prioritized a gritty, immersive soundscape over the more polished production values that would characterize commercial dance music later in the decade.
