My Persian Love

My Persian Love was released in 2010 through the Claremont 56 label, an imprint founded by DJ and producer Paul 'Mudd' Murphy. The release serves as a tribute to the experimental spirit of Holger Czukay, the influential bassist and founding member of the krautrock group Can. The track captures Czukay's signature approach to sound collage, blending hypnotic, repetitive rhythms with ethereal, world-music-inspired textures that lean into his long-standing interest in international sounds and non-traditional song structures.

The production process for this release reflects Czukay’s methodical yet spontaneous methodology, where he utilized analog tape loops and primitive digital sampling to create a layered, atmospheric soundscape. Claremont 56 curated this specific release to bring Czukay’s avant-garde leanings to a contemporary Balearic and downtempo audience, aiming to showcase the softer, more meditative side of his experimental body of work. The record was received by the electronic and experimental community as a thoughtful distillation of Czukay’s career-long experimentation with space and resonance.
