On A Beau Savoir / D'Après La Cravate

Released in 1982 under the Pathé label, this French 7-inch single captures the distinct style of Michèle Grégory, a figure associated with the French music scene of the early eighties. The track 'On A Beau Savoir' serves as a representative example of the era's chanson-inflected pop, characterized by sophisticated arrangements and the clear, emotive vocal delivery that defined Grégory's studio work during this period.

The record’s production and presentation reflect the aesthetic sensibilities of the French music industry at the time, which often prioritized moody, polished production values for solo vocalists. While Grégory is a more niche figure in the broader scope of European pop, this release remains a sought-after piece for enthusiasts of French 7-inch rarities and those documenting the diverse stylistic experiments of the early eighties Pathé catalog.
