Provenance

Where it came from

Originally released as a seminal progressive trance track in 1997, Nalin & Kane's 'Open Your Eyes' became a genre standard for its atmospheric synth work and haunting vocal hook. By 2006, the track remained a staple in DJ sets, prompting Supra Recordings to commission fresh interpretations to reinvigorate the composition for a new generation of club-goers.

This specific 2006 release features the work of Markus Schulz and his collaborative project, Elevation. Schulz, known for his cinematic approach to trance production, aimed to modernize the classic melody by incorporating tighter, driving percussion and layered synthesizer builds characteristic of the mid-2000s progressive sound. The release was well-received within the trance community as a respectful but club-oriented update to an enduring dance music anthem.
