Where it came from
Released under the Preiser Records label, this recording features Johann Trummer performing organ music within the acoustic space of the Graz Cathedral. Preiser Records, a label historically known for its dedication to classical music, opera, and historical vocal recordings, sought to capture the authentic resonance of the cathedral's instrument, highlighting the architectural and liturgical significance of the venue through this selection of organ literature.
The album serves as a document of the cathedral's rich musical tradition, showcasing the technical mastery and interpretative style of Trummer, who was a central figure in the Austrian organ music scene. Designed to emphasize clarity and spatial depth, the production focuses on the interplay between the mechanical complexity of the organ and the natural reverb of the historic stone interior, garnering appreciation primarily among enthusiasts of liturgical and European pipe organ repertoire.
