Ponymusical Black / Storie E Musiche Dall'Arcobaleno Dei Miominipony

Released in 1985 under the Hasbro Bradley label, this record emerged during the height of the first generation of My Little Pony toys. It was created to expand the reach of the franchise into the Italian market, blending storytelling with catchy musical numbers. This localized production allowed Italian children to engage with the 'My Little Pony' world through audio, which was a common strategy for toy companies in the mid-1980s to build brand loyalty through television and radio-friendly media.

The musical direction was helmed by Marco Lamioni, who composed the tracks to align with the bright, optimistic tone characteristic of the era's children's entertainment. The production reflects the aesthetic of 1980s Italian children's music, which often featured vibrant orchestration and high-energy vocal performances. While largely intended as a companion piece for young fans of the toy line, the record is now viewed as a piece of pop culture history that illustrates the international expansion of Hasbro’s intellectual property during its formative years.
