Where it came from
Pourquoi Je Vis was released in 2020 as part of a reissue campaign honoring the legacy of Grégory Lemarchal, the French singer who rose to fame after winning the fourth season of Star Academy in 2004. This specific release served to commemorate the enduring emotional impact of his music, particularly his signature ballad that reflects on his lifelong struggle with cystic fibrosis and his profound commitment to his craft despite his health challenges.
The design of this vinyl release maintains a respectful aesthetic consistent with the Fontana catalog’s approach to posthumous tributes. It centers on the evocative imagery associated with Lemarchal’s career, aiming to provide fans with a tangible connection to the songs that defined his short but significant impact on the French music scene. The release was received as a sensitive archival piece, intended to preserve his artistic contributions for a new generation of listeners.
