Rendez-Vous

Rendez-Vous was released in 1984 under the Le Sieur label, a niche imprint operating within the Canadian francophone music scene of the mid-1980s. This record serves as a representative example of the independent production efforts prevalent in Quebec during that decade, where artists often utilized smaller, localized labels to distribute experimental or genre-blending works that did not align with the major label mandates of the era.

The album is the work of Régis Simard, a musician whose creative output during this period explored atmospheric textures and synthesized arrangements characteristic of the 1980s landscape. The design and production reflect the intimate, often D.I.Y. aesthetic of the Le Sieur catalog, prioritizing a personal, idiosyncratic sound over the polished pop production standard in the broader industry at the time.
