Where it came from
Released in 2018 as a promotional vinyl record, this ephemeral piece was created by Old Spice as a whimsical addition to their holiday marketing campaign. It features the Old Spice Bearded Quartet, a vocal group assembled to capitalize on the brand’s long-standing humorous identity and its specific focus on male grooming products during the peak gift-giving season.
The record blends tongue-in-cheek grooming advice with lighthearted, traditional-style holiday arrangements. The design reflects the brand's mid-century aesthetic, utilizing bold typography and vintage-inspired color palettes intended to evoke a sense of nostalgic reliability while maintaining the irreverent, absurd humor that defined the brand's viral advertising era.
