Un Nuevo Dia Nacera = Und Wenn Ein Neuer Tag Erwacht In Spanish/ Nena, Yo Te Amo

Released in 1972 on the Uruguayan label Sondor, this 7-inch single by Los Ermitaños represents a specific moment in the South American beat and pop music scene. The group emerged during a period of intense artistic activity in Uruguay, where local musicians were navigating the influence of international rock and pop while maintaining a distinct regional identity. The record reflects the label's commitment to capturing the accessible, romantic sound that dominated the local radio landscape of the early 1970s.

The tracks, including the Spanish-language adaptation of the German hit Und Wenn Ein Neuer Tag Erwacht, highlight the common practice of the era to translate successful European pop songs for the Latin American market. The design and production reflect the modest, functional aesthetic typical of Sondor releases, which served as a crucial outlet for local bands to gain exposure. While Los Ermitaños are a lesser-known ensemble in the broader history of Latin rock, this record remains a preserved example of the stylistic crossover trends prevalent in Montevideo's music studios during that decade.
