Provenance

Where it came from

UN-United Nations was released in 2024 as a self-published effort by the British band The Korgis, best known for their late 1970s hit Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime. The track serves as a modern commentary on global unity, reflecting the band's long-standing interest in philosophical and humanitarian themes. By opting to bypass a traditional record label, the group maintained complete creative control, allowing them to release the music directly to their dedicated fan base without the influence of commercial intermediaries.

The design and production of this release prioritize the digital-first era while acknowledging the band's legacy in pop-rock songwriting. Without the involvement of a major label, the release lacks a formal catalog number, marking it as a grassroots project intended to foster direct engagement with listeners. The composition leans into the melodic sensibilities that defined the band's earlier work, aiming to resonate with long-time supporters who appreciate the group's enduring commitment to melodic, thoughtful songcraft.
