Provenance

Where it came from

Released in 1959 on the Italian Embassy label, 'Una Ocarina, Una Fisa E Un Po' Di Ritmo' belongs to the mid-century tradition of instrumental easy-listening and lounge music. The record was produced during a period when Mediterranean labels frequently curated compilation-style albums of light, upbeat music to capitalize on the growing domestic market for background entertainment in cafes and social settings.

As an Embassy release, this album follows the label's strategy of utilizing anonymous or session-based talent to provide accessible arrangements of popular melodies. The artwork and production were designed for utility and mass appeal rather than individual artistic branding, which was common for these budget-friendly instrumental series that aimed to bring rhythmic, accordion-led tracks into the home listener's collection.
