Wulomei, a group formed by Nii Ashitey Adjiri-Wellington, sought to modernize traditional Ga folk music, specifically the Kpanlogo rhythm, by blending it with contemporary instrumentation. This record emerged during a period of intense artistic exploration in Accra, where musicians were consciously looking back to indigenous roots to create a distinct post-colonial identity.
