Xray Xperiments Vol. 1

Xray Xperiments Vol. 1, released in 1991 on the Xray Recordings label, emerged from the burgeoning experimental and industrial electronic scene of the early 1990s. As the label's inaugural catalog entry, XRAY 001, the record was intended to push the boundaries of sound design, favoring abrasive textures and unconventional rhythms that defined the label's signature aesthetic during this period.

The production process for this release prioritized a raw, lo-fi recording style designed to mirror the cold, clinical themes suggested by the group's name. Upon its release, the record received a modest reception within niche underground music circles, where it was noted for its uncompromising sonic experimentation. It remains a representative artifact of the independent, artist-led labels that sought to challenge mainstream electronic music conventions of the early nineties.
