You Don't Have To Be A Star / If You Leave Me Now / Life Is Too Short Girl / You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine

This record is a 1970s compilation release from the Cash Box label, a brand often associated with budget-friendly, secondary-market music collections. During this era, labels like Cash Box frequently licensed or re-recorded popular hits of the day to capitalize on the success of chart-topping singles. These releases provided a convenient way for listeners to acquire multiple radio favorites on a single disc, though they were distinct from the original pressings issued by major labels.

The tracks featured—including hits originally made famous by artists like Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. and Peter Cetera’s Chicago—reflect the soft rock and soul radio landscape of the mid-1970s. The design and production of such compilations typically prioritized accessibility and utility over the artistic curation found in major studio albums. While these records served as popular soundtrack choices for casual home listening at the time, they are now primarily regarded as artifacts of the diverse and often competitive music distribution market that existed before the dominance of centralized streaming.
