Yüreklere Yazılanlar (Seçme Eserler Yeni Düzenleme, Yeni Yorumla 1989 / 2000)

Yüreklere Yazılanlar represents a significant retrospective project by Onur Akın, a prominent figure in modern Turkish protest music. Originally emerging from the political and social consciousness of the 1980s and 90s, Akın’s work is characterized by lyrical depth and a commitment to folk-inspired melodies. This particular collection serves as a bridge between his classic catalog from the late 1980s and early 2000s, reintroducing his signature sound to a new generation through updated arrangements and modern production techniques.

The 2024 release under the SM Gold label functions as a curated anthology, stripping back the original recordings to provide a fresh auditory perspective while preserving the emotional core of the compositions. Akın oversaw the conceptual direction of these re-recordings, aiming to maintain the integrity of the original protest-folk aesthetic while refining the instrumental textures. The project was received as a respectful homage to his own legacy, focusing on the longevity of the themes of love, social justice, and human resilience that have defined his career.
