Yürü Yalan Dünya Yalan Olasın / Aman Gönül Yaman Gönül

Released under the Aşkın Plak label in Turkey during the mid-20th century, this 78-rpm record captures the singular artistry of the folk musician known as Perişan Ali. The tracks, 'Yürü Yalan Dünya Yalan Olasın' and 'Aman Gönül Yaman Gönül,' reflect the tradition of the Aşık—wandering bards who improvised poetry and melodies. These records were produced for a public deeply rooted in Anatolian folk culture, serving as a primary medium for disseminating the soulful, often melancholic lyrical themes of transience and human longing that define the regional musical canon.

The aesthetic of Aşkın Plak releases from this era typically favored utilitarian design, prioritizing the artist's name and the song titles as the central focus of the label. These recordings were part of a vibrant ecosystem of independent Turkish labels that sought to capture the voices of local folk poets before the total dominance of standardized radio broadcasts. While specific documentation regarding the precise design choices is scarce, the records are recognized by ethnomusicologists today as essential artifacts for preserving the regional variations of folk improvisation that might otherwise have been lost to oral tradition.
