Where it came from
Released in 1982 under the PGP RTB label, Za Kim Zvona Zvone stands as a representative artifact of the Yugoslav pop-rock scene during a period of significant cultural transition. PGP RTB, the state-owned record label based in Belgrade, was the primary platform for popular music in the region, often bridging the gap between local folk traditions and contemporary Western-influenced pop arrangements.
The album reflects the era's aesthetic sensibilities, blending accessible melodies with the production styles typical of early 1980s Eastern European studio recording. As a catalog title from the PGP RTB archive, it illustrates the label's commitment to supporting diverse domestic artists, capturing the unique soundscape of a music industry that functioned within a distinct political and economic landscape before the dissolution of the Yugoslav market.
