Za Záclonou Bytu Č. 308 / Zvonky

Released by the state-run label Panton in 1980, this single represents a transitional period for Michal Prokop and his band, Framus Five. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Czechoslovak music scene was heavily influenced by evolving rock sensibilities that had to navigate the strict cultural oversight of the era. This record captures Prokop’s signature fusion of rock and soul influences, serving as a notable example of the refined, professional production quality that Panton sought to cultivate for domestic audiences during this decade.

The tracks demonstrate the band's shift toward a more polished, orchestrated sound that moved beyond the raw blues-rock roots of their earlier years. The arrangements reflect a deliberate effort to incorporate contemporary pop sensibilities while maintaining the lyrical depth characteristic of Prokop's work. Upon release, the single was recognized as a contribution to the sophisticated Czechoslovak mainstream, reflecting the technical craftsmanship of the era's studio musicians and Prokop's established status as one of the country's most versatile vocalists.
