Where it came from
The Zig-Zag EP, cataloged as FPM 001, was released in 2000 under the independent label Four Play Music. Emerging during a period of experimentation within the late nineties and early millennium underground electronic and dance scenes, this release serves as a quintessential example of the DIY ethos prevalent in independent dance music distribution at the time.
The EP features a minimalist aesthetic typical of early Four Play Music productions, focusing on raw, dance-oriented compositions designed for club play. While the artist Zig-Zag remains an elusive figure in the broader discography of the era, the release is noted by collectors for its representative sound of 2000s-era underground house and club production, reflecting the label's commitment to releasing transient, high-energy tracks without the backing of major commercial distribution.
