Altergeist Silquitous

Altergeist Silquitous was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Extreme Force booster set in 2018, later appearing as a Super Rare in the 2018 Mega-Tin Mega Pack. It belongs to the Altergeist archetype, a theme centered on control and the manipulation of the field through trap-like monster effects. The design emphasizes the archetype's aesthetic of digital spirits manifesting in the physical world, intended to provide players with a versatile tool for bouncing cards back to the owner's hand.

The card was designed to be a centerpiece for the Altergeist strategy, functioning as a disruptive pivot that allows players to trade their own resources for opponent disruption. Upon its release, the card was well-received by competitive players for its synergy with other Altergeist monsters and its ability to recycle spent backrow cards. It solidified the archetype's reputation as a resilient control deck within the competitive meta of the late 2010s.
