Altergeist Silquitous

Altergeist Silquitous debuted as part of the Altergeist archetype, which was introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS era to represent a theme centered on disruptive control and shifting trap-monster mechanics. Released in the 2018 Star Pack VRAINS, the card was designed to offer players a repeatable form of non-destruction removal, reflecting the strategic philosophy of the archetype which prioritizes resource management and field control over raw power.

The card’s design features a spectral, digitized aesthetic consistent with the cyberspace themes of the VRAINS animated series. As a common rarity release in the Star Pack series, it was intended to be highly accessible to newer players and fans of the series, allowing them to construct a functional Altergeist deck without requiring high-rarity collector prints. Upon release, it became a cornerstone of the Altergeist strategy, valued primarily for its versatility in returning both opponent cards and friendly Altergeist traps to the hand.
