Amphibious Bugroth MK-3

Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the early 2000s, gaining wider accessibility through its inclusion in the Dark Revelation Volume 2 set. The card represents a stylistic evolution within the game, building on the mechanical aesthetic of the machine-type monsters that frequently appeared during the GX era of the franchise. It was designed to offer players a unique utility-based monster capable of attacking directly under specific field conditions, reflecting the game's ongoing shift toward more tactical, situational creature abilities.

The visual design of the card captures a distinct industrial, aquatic-mechanical fusion that was characteristic of the artists at Konami’s design studios during this period. The artwork emphasizes a bulky, submarine-like frame that fits the thematic identity of the 'Bugroth' series. While the card is generally considered a niche utility piece rather than a competitive staple, it remains a nostalgic touchstone for collectors of the Dark Revelation reprint era, appreciated for its contribution to the diversity of machine-type monster mechanics.
