Archfiend Soldier

Archfiend Soldier was originally introduced during the early years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as a powerful level-four normal monster. Its design reflects the gothic, macabre aesthetic often associated with the Archfiend archetype, emphasizing a disciplined, armored warrior aesthetic rather than the more chaotic forms seen in other creatures within the faction. The card served as a staple for players seeking a high-attack normal monster that could be easily searched or supported by cards that benefit standard-type monsters.

The specific iteration SGX3-ENE02 hails from the Speed Duel GX: Duelists of Shadows set, which was designed to bring the accelerated, streamlined gameplay of the Speed Duel format to the nostalgic landscape of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX era. As a common rarity print, this version was intended to make the card accessible for both casual play and competitive deck-building, allowing players to utilize its formidable 1900 attack points in the smaller, more tactical environment of the Speed Duel rule set.
