Artifact Mjollnir

Artifact Mjollnir was released as part of the 2018 Mega-Tin Mega Pack, a compilation set designed to reprint high-value cards from the previous year's booster sets, specifically targeting the themes introduced in Maximum Crisis and Code of the Duelist. This card is part of the Artifact archetype, a series of light fairy-type monsters characterized by their ability to be set in the spell and trap zone and special summoned during the opponent's turn if destroyed while set.

The design of the Artifact series leans heavily into Greco-Roman mythological weaponry, with Mjollnir taking its name and aesthetic inspiration from the legendary hammer of Thor. The artwork utilizes a distinct, ethereal style consistent with the rest of the archetype, emphasizing glowing, translucent structures. As a common rarity card in the Mega-Tin reprint cycle, it served as an accessible way for players to complete their Artifact engines for competitive play, reflecting the game's shift toward defensive disruption strategies.
