Artifact Moralltach

Artifact Moralltach was introduced as part of the Primal Origin booster set, which debuted in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2014. The card belongs to the Artifact archetype, a series of light-attributed fairy monsters characterized by their ability to be set in the spell and trap zone and special summoned during the opponent's turn. This design mechanic was intended to catch opponents off-guard by triggering effects upon destruction, creating a reactive playstyle that defined the competitive meta of the era.

The card was designed to serve as a pivotal disruption tool within the archetype, specifically tasked with destroying face-up cards on the field when summoned during an opponent's turn. Its illustration features the titular ethereal, crystalline blade, reflecting the series' thematic focus on mystical weaponry. Upon its release, Moralltach was widely recognized for its high utility and synergy with card-drawing engines, quickly becoming a staple in competitive deck lists that prioritized board control and unexpected interjections.
